no more course work for students ?

It has been announced that students won’t need to undertake any course work activities because it’s all so easy just to copy stuff of the internet to improve your grades.

Certainly students in maths don’t need to undertake coursework activities and more subjects have joined the list.

This is what the exam watchdog in the UK thinks as coursework has become “invalid”

The Maths coursework for GCSE students will be scraped from 2007 and they also believe it should be stopped in English Literature and humanities or be more controlled. The exam watchdog called the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) said they have a responsibility to ensure assessments continue to be valid and reliable.

Where practical assessments are required then coursework will remain. Subjects such as art, design and technology, home economics, PE and music will continue to have assessments but will have stronger safeguards.

Most changes come with courses starting in 2009

Teachers on the other hand were not overly worried about people using the internet for research and most wanted coursework to be retained (but who ever listens to the workers eh ?)

The unions rounded on the QCA saying they are ditching something before a replacement is even thought out.
