Installing MSN Messenger - twice

Why oh why does Microsoft make life so difficult for regular computer users ?

So I thought I needed to download MSN messenger as people are always trying to contact me online (rather than the telephone of course) so searched for MSN messenger from Google. I got to the messenger home page but no download link. Then I found it burried but again no actual download button to continue - just messenging online.

Hmmm, so back to google to search for “download MSN messenger” and then I found another MS site - this download worked - hurrah, only 10mb to download and that took a minute or so. Then it prompted me to log in - and the first popup that happened? “There is a newer version of MSN Messenger that you must download before continuing”

What? A newer version - but I’ve only just downloaded it. Sigh.
